Since this has been coming up so often, here’s an excellent explanation debunking the narrative pushed by certain media outlets.
I thought it was especially interesting how often this crime is actually prosecuted.

THIS along with the fact that judge Merchan sought an opinion from the NY advisory committee on judicial ethics about whether he should recuse for his $35 contribution to Biden and they said no. We just need to keep shouting this out because even if it doesn’t change crazy MAGAs it might reach those who don’t follow this.

People really should be asking themselves why Trump repeatedly lies about not knowing the charges against him, amongst other things about this case like the gag order preventing him from testifying.
Not only was he put on notice through the indictment, there was a statement of particulars that was filed that offered the theory of the prosecution, and it was litigated as to the theory NY could proceed under.
This is also a man who lied about never saying “lock her up…” when he’s been repeatedly taped saying that exact statement.
Guess we shouldn’t be surprised that’s he lying to his followers as he’s collecting their money.

It’s a stretch to say that the money sent to Stormy Daniels through Michael Cohen was a campaign expense. You can’t prove that the knowledge of the hush money paid to Daniel’s would have swayed the election results. People knew Trump slept around prior to Daniel’s, why would that make a difference? Paying the p*rn star to stay quiet would not qualify as a campaign expense? Please explain what you would label that as?
Cohen labeled it as an “ongoing legal fee” rather than a “loan reimbursem*nt”?!!
How many times did Bragg sue Trump? Over 100? Bragg made it his campaign promise that he was going after Trump.
Statute of limitations had expired, but somehow the four years Trump was president didn’t count? Because he was out of state? C’mon now.
The issues brought into the court room against Trump were morally wrong, but legally it was a stretch and a gross miscarriage of justice. Jurors don’t always get it right, but that’s the gamble we take with our court system.
When Obama’s campaign in 2008 hid donors and kept illegal donations. He was only fined by the FEC.
Let’s not forget Bill Clinton settling a sexual harassment lawsuit by Paula Jones for $850,000 — he was married at the time. Oh and he was having an affair with his intern, Monica Lewinsky. Ope, and he lied about it too!
Somehow though, Clinton and Obama were not prosecuted in a state court on felony charges. Weird how all of us “stupid” people think that somehow, things don’t add up based on the history of US politics.

I'm confused on what you agree or disagree with. You came on this thread to ask two factual questions (what was he charged with/convicted of, and what is he lying about).
