6Then cometh Simon Peter, following him, and went into the sepulchre: and saw the linen cloths lying,

7And the napkin that had been about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but apart, wrapped up into one place.

8Then that other disciple also went in, who came first to the sepulchre: and he saw and believed.

9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

10The disciples therefore departed again to their home.

6Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. 8Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) 10Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.

He saw the linen cloths lying there, 7and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. 8Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; 9for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10Then the disciples went back to their homes.

6Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed—9for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. 10Then they went home.

6Simon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying, 7and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8Then entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed. 9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. 10So the disciples went away again unto their own home.

It wasn’t lying with the strips of linen but was rolled up separately. 8Then the other disciple, who arrived at the tomb first, went inside. He saw and believed. 9They didn’t know yet what Scripture meant when it said that Jesus had to come back to life. 10So the disciples went back home.
